Terms & Conditions

By enrolling in any class, workshop, or programme at Farnborough Academy of Ballet (“the Academy”), you (“the Student” or “the Parent/Guardian”) agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Fees & Payment
1.1 Term Fees: Full details of fees are outlined in your welcome email.
1.2 Registration Fee: A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of £25 is payable and added to the first invoice.
1.3 Payment Plans: Fees may be paid in up to three instalments. A £9 administration fee applies to all payment plans. Please contact the Academy to arrange.
1.4 Additional Costs: Costs for uniforms, examinations, performances, costumes, and workshops are charged separately and communicated in advance.
1.5 Refund Policy: Fees are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Principal. No refunds will be provided for missed classes. In the event of teacher absence, the Academy will provide a cover teacher or reschedule classes where possible.
2. Attendance & Cancellation
2.1 Attendance: Regular attendance is expected to maintain progress and class consistency.
2.2 Exam Classes: Students attending examination classes must maintain at least 80% attendance to be eligible to sit exams. This requirement does not apply to adult, non-exam classes.
2.3 Withdrawal: Written notice of withdrawal must be provided at least one full term in advance. Failure to give sufficient notice will result in fees for the subsequent term being charged in full. Notice submitted after the term has commenced will also incur full term fees. Publication of the timetable does not waive this requirement.
2.4 Make-up Classes: Offered at the Principal’s discretion and subject to availability.
2.5 Cancellations: In the event of unforeseen cancellations (e.g., teacher illness or severe weather), classes will be rescheduled where possible. Refunds will not be issued for occasional cancellations.
2.6 Force Majeure: The Academy is not liable for non-performance due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to pandemics, natural disasters, or government restrictions. Alternative provision (e.g., online classes) will be arranged where possible.
3. Health & Safety
3.1 Studio Conduct: Students must follow all safety instructions. Running in studios or changing areas is prohibited.
3.2 Supervision: Students are under the Academy’s supervision only during scheduled class times. Children under 10 must be dropped off and collected by a parent/guardian at the studio door.
3.3 Arrival & Collection: Students must arrive punctually and be collected promptly. The Academy must be notified if someone unfamiliar will collect the child.
3.4 Illness: Students must not attend if unwell, particularly with contagious symptoms. A minimum 48-hour symptom-free period is required before returning to class.
3.5 Belongings: The Academy accepts no liability for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items. Students are advised not to bring valuables to class.
4. Uniform & Grooming
4.1 Uniform: Students must wear the official Academy uniform appropriate for their class.
4.2 Hair:

Ballet & AcroDance: Hair must be secured in a bun.

Other classes: Hair must be neatly tied back.
4.3 Jewellery: Only small stud earrings are permitted.
4.4 Uniform Sales: Uniforms are available at Farnborough Academy of Ballet Dance Shop. Second-hand items may be available upon request.
5. Examinations & Performances
5.1 Examinations: The Academy offers syllabus-based exams through RAD, ISTD, and Acrobatic Arts. Entry is at the teacher’s discretion.
5.2 Performances:

A full-school production occurs every two years, open to all students.

Seasonal showcases occur in Summer and Winter Terms; only a Winter Showcase is held in production years.

Participation is open to students from Primary level and above.
5.3 Rehearsals & Costumes: Attendance at scheduled rehearsals is mandatory. Additional charges for rehearsals and costumes will be communicated in advance.
5.4 Workshops & Masterclasses: Offered periodically, charged separately, and notified via email/social media.
5.5 Optional Performance Opportunities: Invitations for competitions or other events may be extended. Participation is optional and may incur additional costs.
6. Behaviour Policy
6.1 Student Conduct: Respect towards teachers, staff, and peers is expected. Bullying, disruptive behaviour, or inappropriate language will not be tolerated.
6.2 Parent/Guardian Conduct: Parents/guardians are expected to support Academy policies and act respectfully.
6.3 Disciplinary Procedures: May include verbal warnings, written warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent exclusion.
6.4 Technology Policy: Students may not photograph or film classes unless directed by a teacher. Mobile phones must be turned off and stored during classes and rehearsals.
7. Communication
The Academy communicates important updates primarily via email and may also post notices on the studio’s notice board. Contact details must be kept up to date.
8. Liability & Insurance
8.1 Liability: The Academy will take reasonable care to ensure student safety, but cannot accept responsibility for injuries sustained during classes, rehearsals, or performances.
8.2 Insurance: Public liability insurance is held. Full details are available upon request.
9. General
9.1 Entire Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the full understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior agreements.
9.2 Amendments: Any amendments must be made in writing and notified to all parties.
9.3 Governing Law: This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
